Their most dominant era came under Sir Alex Ferguson (1986–2013), during which they won countless domestic titles and became a powerhouse in Europe. After he left, Manchester has been off track lately.
Their recent success, they won the 2016 FA Cup under Luis van Gaal. Claimed the UEFA Europa League and EFL Cup with José Mourinho in 2017. Then in 2023, secured another EFL Cup and reached the FA Cup final under Erik ten Hag.

A creative midfielder and penalty specialist, none other than Bruno Fernandes. Casemiro is also a good player for this team. Marcus Rashford is known for pace and crucial goals. André Onana is the current goalkeeper with strong shot-stopping skills. Rasmus Højlund, a promising young striker making waves.
Manchester United has had a huge influence on English football. Under Ferguson, they set high standards for consistency and success. And their Class of ’92 (featuring Beckham, Scholes, and Giggs) showed the value of developing young talent. And off the pitch, United has set trends in marketing, sponsorships, and global outreach. No matter what you say, this team will always be one of the best teams in England.

Their recent success under manager Pep Guardiola since 2016 in 2018 and 2019. Back-to-back Premier League titles, including a record 100-point season (2017–18). In 2023, completed a historic treble winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and their first-ever Champions League title. In 2021 they were playing in the Champions League final but Chelsea took the win. In 2024 Manchester City added the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup to their collection. Guardiola’s style of play, possession-based, high pressing, and quick passing has redefined how many teams approach the game.
Manchester City had legendary player like Sergio Agüero, David Silva, and Vincent Kompany. Right now, their squad is stacked with talent like Erling Haaland, a robot beast with incredible strength and finishing. They also have Kevin De Bruyne, he plays midfield and he has stunning passes. Phil Foden, an amazing youngster. Rodri, the backbone of midfield, crucial for both defence and build-up play. And Ruben Dias, rock-solid at the back, providing leadership and stability.
Manchester City’s rise has had a massive impact. Manchester City raised Premier League standards with consistent 90+ point seasons. Guardiola’s tactics have influenced teams across England, emphasising possession and build-up play. And their investment in youth facilities and the City Football Academy is among the best globally. Their rivalry with Manchester United in the Manchester Derby has intensified, shifting local dominance.
3. Arsenal FC
Arsenal FC was founded in 1886 in Woolwich and later moving to North London. In their trophy collection they have 13 English league titles, 14 FA Cups, the most in any English clubs, 2 League Cups, 1 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and 16 FA Community Shields. One of Arsenal’s greatest achievements came in the 2003–04 season when they went unbeaten in the league, earning the nickname “The Invincibles.”
Legend played in this team like Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Patrick Vieira. Todays start players for this team like Bukayo Saka, a versatile winger with pace, skill, and crucial goals. Martin Ødegaard, team captain known for his vision and creativity. Declan Rice, a midfield powerhouse providing both defence and leadership. I saw this Rice guy once. Gabriel Martinelli, quick, direct, and dangerous on the left wing. Aaron Ramsdale, a key figure between the sticks, known for big saves. These are probably some of the best players in the world my opinion so respect them they deserve it although they might never win the Premier League title ever again because right now they are so shi nah I am joking they will be better in the future and they are probably playing good right now.
Arsenal has a huge impact on English football. Their “Invincibles” season is a record that still stands in the Premier League. Arsenal has developed top English talents like Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, emphasising youth. Their rivalry with Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby is one of the fiercest in football.
4. Liverpool FC
This club was founded in 1892. This club has become one of the most successful and iconic football clubs in the world. Their home ground is the legendary Anfield, known for its electric atmosphere and the famous “You’ll Never Walk Alone” anthem. Liverpool’s trophies cabinet is stacked with 19 English league titles including Premier League wins. They have 6 Champions League titles, the most Champions League titles by any English clubs, 3 UEFA Cups, 4 UEFA Super Cups, 8 FA Cups and 9 EFL Cups. The club’s dominance in the 1970s and 1980s under managers like Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley made them a force in both English and European football.
Their recent success under manager Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool has seen a resurgence. They won the UEFA Champions League, beating Tottenham in the final in 2019. Ended a 30-year wait for a top-flight title by winning the Premier League in 2020. Secured both the FA Cup and EFL Cup, and came close to another Champions League win. In 2022, Klopp’s “heavy metal” style of football, high pressing, quick attacks, and relentless energy have brought excitement back to Anfield.
The key player for this team is Mohammed Salah. He is known for his incredible speed, his goals, and clutch performance. Another player, Virgil van Dijk, he is a handsome tall rock-solid defender. I call him the Great Wall of China. A goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Trent Alexander-Arnold, a creative right-back known for his pinpoint crosses. And lastly, Jordan Henderson is the club’s captain, and he plays in midfield.
Liverpool FC’s success in Europe boosted the reputation of English clubs internationally. The Anfield atmosphere is often cited as one of the toughest places to play. Their attacking style under Klopp has influenced how many Premier League teams approach the game. Alright, I am not a big fan of football nor do I support this team, but research says this is the best team in England.
5. Chelsea FC
This club was founded in 1905. Chelsea FC is based in West London and plays at the historic Stamford Bridge stadium. In 2003 a Russian billionaire bought this club, his name is Roman Abramovich. The Chelsea FC cabinet is impressive. Chelsea’s recent success is that they won the UEFA Champions League under Tuchel, defeating Manchester City in 2021. They added the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup to their collection.
Their key player are Enzo Fernández, a handsome Argentinian and a creative midfielder with great passing range. Reece James, he is the club captain now and he also a very amazing right back. Mykhailo Mudryk, he is a quick winger with dribbling flair. Thiago Silva, veteran defender providing leadership and experience. Robert Sánchez, solid presence in goal.
In their early 2000s spending spree raised the bar for transfers in the Premier League and under José Mourinho, they popularised a more defensive, tactical approach that other teams copied. The youth academy has produced talents like Mason Mount and Reece James, showing their focus on homegrown players. Chelsea’s London rivalries with Arsenal and Tottenham keep the Premier League intense and entertaining.
I used to support this team, I still do, that’s probably the only reason why I stopped watching football but please pray for this team I am begging you.
Final Whistle: English Football Is Never Boring
England isn’t just about the Queen’s Guards standing like statues or those fancy red phone booths, it’s got some seriously crazy football teams. Whether it’s Liverpool’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” vibes, Manchester United’s “We used to be good, I promise” energy, Arsenal’s “We went unbeaten 20 years ago, don’t forget that,” Manchester City’s “We just win everything now, sorry,” or Chelsea’s “Please send help, we need prayers” situation, English football is wild, entertaining, and never boring.
These teams bring history, drama, legendary players, and sometimes heartbreak (looking at you, Chelsea… I’m still recovering). But no matter who you support or if you’re like me and just here for the memes and chaos the Premier League always delivers.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go check if Chelsea finally won a game (probably not, but hope is free, right?).
